ERIN SILANGIL was born in California (USA) and began her musical studies toward the end of her secondary schooling. Graduating from the University of San Francisco, she continued to study voice and performed with San Francisco’s Pocket Opera while working as a Registered Nurse before moving to Vienna and turning her attention fully to music.

After attending the Prayner Konservatorium Opera Repertoire program, she sang as a soloist for the Vienna Baroque Orchestra from 2018-2020. She has also performed the following roles: Nella (Gianni Schicchi); Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro); Despina (Cosi Fan Tutte); Gretel ( Hänsel und Gretel) . In 2019, she performed at the Austrian Embassy in Budapest as guest soloist promoting Seefestspiele Mörbisch’ Production of West Side Story, and in 2020, she performed the role of Zerlina (Don Giovanni) with the Thüringer Symphoniker in Rudolstadt, Germany. In June 2023 she sang the role of Grilletta in Joseph Haydn’s Der Apotheker, and will be singing the role of Lieschen in J.S. Bach’s Coffee Cantata in November, 2024.

 She is passionate about promoting Filipino Kundiman to a wider audience after being presented with her grandmother’s vintage sheet music from the Philippines. In 2015, she performed Nicanor Abelardo’s Mutya Ng Pasig and Francisco Santiago’s Pakiusap at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music while studying in their adult programme. In September 2023, she opened the Kultur Bayanihan Österreich festival, carrying on her grandmother’s legacy to the next generation, and in June 2024 she will perform for Philippine Embassy’s National Day in Vienna, Austria, and at the 22nd Business Golf Championship in cooperation in Bukfurdo, Hungary.
